gender discrimination case – Google is willing to pay 118 million dollars (converted more than 112 million euros) to settle a lawsuit for gender discrimination. That’s according to law firms representing 15,500 female employees of the tech group.

Independent experts also review the company’s personnel policy, including the way in which staff are recruited.

“As a woman who has spent her entire career in the tech industry, I am hopeful that the actions Google has taken as part of this settlement will ensure greater equality for women,” said Holly Pease, one of the women who brought the case.

The female employees say that Google pays women more than $ 16,500 per year less than men who are “in the same situation”. That would be evident from an analysis by David Neumark, an economist at the University of California at Irvine.

The settlement has yet to be approved by the court.
