Indonesia Open Champion, Men’s Doubles India Wins Third Title in 2023

– The Indian men’s doubles pair, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy/Chirag Shetty, made a surprise by winning the Indonesia Open which is also their third title in 2023.

The 2023 Badminton Asia Championships (BAC) champion won the BWF Super 1000 title after defeating Malaysia’s men’s doubles, Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik in the final, with a score of 21-17, 21-18. This result came as a surprise for them because they managed to beat Chia/Soh, after the previous one

In the match that was held at Istora Gelora Bung Karno, Senayan, Jakarta, Sunday (18/6/2022), the sixth-ranked men’s doubles admitted that they were excited given the support of many supporters in Jakarta. No wonder the 2022 India Open champion was able to win in 43 minutes.

“It feels good to win at Istora Senayan. This victory is a good momentum for us because here we received support throughout the match from Indonesian fans,” said Satwiksairaj.

“We started the game pretty tough. Gradually we started to find the best form of play to get up and win the title,” said Shetty.

With this result, the 2022 French Open champion won his third title after previously triumphing at the Swiss Open and 2023 Badminton Asia Championships.

The 2022 Commonwealth Games gold medalist admitted that he received a lot of input from his coach Mathias Boe, who has a lot of experience in the men’s doubles sector.

“It’s great to be a champion again. I learned a lot from my coach, from training to becoming a champion,” Satwaksairaj concluded.
