Indonesian Badminton Players Hold First Training

Ningbo, Beritasatu.com – Indonesian badminton players competing in the 2024 Asian Championships started training at the Ningbo Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium, Ningbo, China, Monday (8/4/2024) morning.

This initial training is part of preparations for the 2024 Asian Championship which will take place from 9-14 April. Even though they were still sleepy, the players were still enthusiastic and enthusiastic about the training portion.

Practice takes place in the main hall which will be the venue for the Asian Badminton Championships, a tournament equivalent to the BWF World Tour Super 1000. Apart from that, the players can also take turns practicing in the practice hall which is in the same complex.

According to PBSI National Training Head Coach Rionny Mainaky, this first training was aimed at restoring the players' fitness condition after traveling from Jakarta.

Apart from that, he said, it is also used to adapt to the competition arena.

“Yes, this training is to restore the players' condition after they traveled from Jakarta. Moreover, the flight was delayed for 6 hours. The rest is all about adapting to the match venue,” said Rionny Mainaky.

Previously, new groups of players could enter the Shangri-La Hotel, Ningbo, Monday (8/4/2024) at 02.30 in the morning. This happened because the plane that took them from Guangzhou to Ningbo was delayed for up to 6 hours.

“Actually, I'm still sleepy. I still don't get enough sleep. But I force myself to keep practicing. This is to restore my body to a fresher condition,” said Fajar Alfian.

His colleague, Leo Rolly Carnando, also said the same thing. This exercise is to restore condition so that the body is better prepared for the next training and match.

“The atmosphere in the arena is good. The arena is big. So far it's okay. The lights are bright and the wind is relatively unnoticeable,” he said.

Under the guidance of the head women's doubles coach at Pelatnas PBSI, Eng Hian, Ribka Sugiarto/Lanny Tria Mayasari trained against Meylisa Trias Puspitasari/Rachel Allessya Rose.

“This training is to maintain conditions. The competition arena is very large. There are only a few gusts of wind. We have to adapt to the arena,” said Ribka Sugiarto.

In the mixed doubles sector, the two pairs Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto/Lisa Ayu Kusumawati trained with Adnan Maulana/Nita Maulana Marwah. They were guided by coach Amon Sunaryo.

“The players' condition is good. They just didn't get enough sleep because they only arrived at the hotel early Monday morning. Luckily, during the transit delay in Guangzhou, the players were able to maintain their condition with good food intake. That's why they have been training today,” he said.
