Ivar Jenner and Rafael Struick’s Naturalization Completed, Erick: Competition in the Indonesian National Team is Increasingly Competitive

– PSSI Chairman Erick Thohir congratulated the completion of the naturalization process for Rafael William Struick and Ivar Jenner who are now legally Indonesian citizens. Erick admitted that the two players from the Netherlands were fully committed to defending Indonesia.

“Thank God, Struick and Jenner have taken the oath of citizenship at the DKI Jakarta Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights today,” said Erick during the process of cooperation with the Japanese Football Federation (JFA) in Tokyo, Japan, Monday (22/5/2023) quoted PSI official website.

Erick believes the presence of Struick and Jenner will add to the strength of the Indonesian National Team. He hopes the two players can pass on their knowledge and experience of competing at the international level to other players in the Indonesian national team.

The joining of Struick and Jenner will make the competition for positions in the national team even more competitive. According to Erick, it is positive to be able to get a quality squad.

“Other players will certainly be more motivated to compete in a healthy manner, improve their abilities so that they are selected to be part of the Garuda squad,” said Erick.

Currently, PSSI is finalizing the transfer of the two players from the Dutch Football Federation (KNVB).

Erick hopes that the move process can be realized as soon as possible so that the two players can join and defend the national team in a number of events in the future.

Meanwhile, Ivar and Rafael said they were happy after becoming Indonesian citizens. He seemed enthusiastic about going through the stages of the process of becoming an Indonesian citizen.

“This is an extraordinary day. I want to thank the Ketum PSSI, as well as the Indonesian government. I can’t describe my feelings right now, but I’m very happy. Thank you very much. I promise to give everything for this country, for our country I can’t wait to join the team in training camp,” said Ivar.

“I just want to thank everyone who was here. This is a special day for me, for my family, just like Ivar, I can’t wait to do the training camp with the Indonesian national team,” said Rafael.
