Behind 3-0: ESPN Says Celtics’ Chances Of Winning Still 72%, Lakers 5%

The Boston Celtics club trailed 3-0 against the Miami Heat in the Eastern region of the NBA Finals, Monday (5/22/2023) WIB. However, last season’s NBA finalist club is called ESPN still have a chance to turn things around.

In fact, the Boston Celtics still have a 72 percent chance of winning the series, according to ESPN’s Basketball Performance Index (BPI).

It’s just worth noting, no team in NBA history has ever managed to win a playoff series after trailing 0-3.

But still, the index used by ESPN which measures how well a team is performing in relation to their opponent, gives the Boston Celtics a great chance to bounce back.

The Miami Heat just need one more win over the Celtics to become the Eastern Conference champion and advance to the finals.

In the Western conference NBA finals, the Los Angeles Lakers, also trailed the Denver Nuggets 0-3 and had only a five percent chance of winning the series.
