Peak of Backflow, 1,775 Homecoming Arrives at Samarinda Port
Entering the peak of the return flow at Samarinda Port, thousands of travelers from Pare-pare South Sulawesi, returned to Samarinda Port, East Kalimantan, Monday (1/5/2023).
A number of passengers returning from this Eid holiday complained about the condition of the ship which had tilted when it was about to dock at the Port of Samarinda.
This was allegedly due to the large number of passengers who couldn’t wait to get off the ship, thus making the ship’s condition less stable.
One of the passengers, Nuraini, confirmed that when the ship was about to dock at Samarinda Harbor, the ship’s condition had experienced an unusual tilt.
Suddenly, this condition made thousands of travelers on board panic. In fact, Nuraini was forced to leave the room because she was worried about the unusual tilt of the ship.
“Yes, sir, it was true that it tilted, so the condition of the ship was slightly tilted earlier, not as usual,” said Nuraini.
Head of Sailing Safety Guard and Patrol (KBPP) KSOP Samarinda, Ridha said that at the peak of the return flow of Eid on D+8, the KM Aditya ship carried quite a lot of passengers.
The reason is, from the passenger manifest data, the KM Aditya ship carried 1,775 passengers. In fact, the maximum capacity of the ship can only carry 1,800 people.
“Yes, so today is Monday, May 1 2023 or H + 8 Eid, it is indeed the peak of the return flow of passengers at Samarinda Port, because today there are 1,775 ship passengers from Pare-pare South Sulawesi returning to Samarinda City,” said Ridha .
Even though it had experienced an unusual tilt, the KSOP ensured that the ship was in a proper operating condition, and all passengers had arrived at Samarinda Port in a safe condition.
“It’s still safe, bro, there are no victims, all passengers got off safely,” he added.
