The Portuguese racer, who finished fifth in the Sprint, was eliminated at Turn 2 of the main race after his motorbike was hit by Fabio Quartararo.

This was the second time in four rounds that Oliveira fell and was injured by contact with another racer.

After being absent from Argentina due to a torn ligament in his leg, after being hit by Marc Marquez at the Portuguese GP round, Oliveira has now been diagnosed with a dislocated left shoulder at Jerez.

But the RNF team has now revealed that the five-time MotoGP race champion has also suffered a fracture.

“After the team of the medical center in Circuito de Jerez – Angel Nieto, who treated Miguel immediately detected a dislocated left shoulder and reattached it, further examinations at the Jerez de la Frontera hospital on Sunday showed that the damage was greater than expected and indicated a fracture. small on the humerus of his left shoulder. Oliveira is confirmed to miss the fifth round of the MotoGP series at Le Mans, France which will come, on May 14-16, due to his latest injury. Aprilia test rider Lorenzo Savadori is likely to be a substitute after replacing Oliveira at Monday’s official Jerez test.

Meanwhile, teammate Raul Fernandez is considering arm pump surgery after his physical problems persisted in Sunday’s race.

Quartararo controversially received a Long Lap penalty for incidents with Oliveira and Marco Bezzecchi.
