Join Inter Miami, Alba Reunion with Messi and Busquets

Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – Spanish national team player, Jordi Alba, confirmed to join Major League Soccer (MLS) club Inter Miami. This move will see him reunite with Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets who have previously defended Barcelona together.

Certainty about Alba joining the United States club was conveyed by one of the owners of Inter Miami, Jorge Mas, on Tuesday (18/7/2023).

“Today, Jordi Alba will join the club,” Mas told reporters after the team’s training session reported by AFP.

On Tuesday, Messi and Busquets underwent their first training session with Inter Miami, in preparation for their possible debut against Mexico’s Cruz Azul on Friday in the League Cup.

Since joining Barcelona in 2021 from Valencia, Alba has played 459 times and scored 27 goals in all competitions.

During his time with the Catalan club, the 34-year-old defender won 17 trophies, including six La Liga titles and one Champions League title.

At international level, Alba has made 93 appearances for the Spanish national team, scoring 9 goals. He managed to win the 2012 Euro Cup and the 2022/23 Nations League.

Mas revealed that Inter Miami will still bring in other players to improve their ranking, which is currently at the bottom of the MLS Eastern Conference standings in Major League Soccer.
