– General Chair of the Golkar Party, Airlangga Hartarto, spoke about the news that the party bearing the banyan tree had left the United Indonesia Coalition (KIB), which was formed with PAN and PPP. According to Airlangga, the matter is being discussed by a technical team led by Nusron Wahid (Golkar) and Faisol Reza (National Awakening Party/PKB).

This was conveyed by Airlangga Hartarto after meeting former Vice President Jusuf Kalla at Jalan Brawijaya Number 6, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, Thursday (4/5/2023) evening.

Previously, Airlangga and PKB chairman Muhaimin Iskandar, who is familiarly called Cak Imin, agreed to form a “core coalition” that would bridge the formation of a grand coalition which was a combination of KIB and the Greater Indonesia Awakening Coalition (KKIR) formed by Gerindra-PKB.

In fact, Airlangga and Cak Imin will lobby parties that are members of the Change Coalition initiated by Nasdem, Democrats and PKS to join the grand coalition.

Previously, PKB DPP chairman Faisol Reza said that Golkar had agreed to join KKIR along with PKB and Gerindra.

“Golkar has long experience in government, Gerindra and PKB need that to make Indonesia more advanced,” said Faisol at Resto Pelataran Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday (3/5/2023).

According to Faisol, the cooperation scheme between PKB and Golkar is to prepare to win the presidential election (pilpres) by strengthening the Prabowo-Cak Imin duo as presidential and vice-presidential candidates.

“The PKB and Golkar cooperation scheme is to prepare a presidential election winning scheme by enlarging the KKIR and strengthening Mas Bowo-Cak Imin,” said Faisol.
