KTM opens up opportunities for Dani Pedrosa to appear at the Spanish GP

Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – Legendary MotoGP racer Dani Pedrosa has the opportunity to return to the racing track. This is after the Director of KTM Motosports, Pit Beirer, gave an indication that Pedrosa might make a comeback wild card in the Spanish Grand Prix at the Jerez International Circuit on April 26-28.

“In my opinion, most likely so. Dani has just tested with us at Jerez this week. I think he is preparing for that,” said Beirer as quoted from the official MotoGP website on Friday (29/3/2024).

Pedrosa, who has won the world title three times in the 125cc and 250cc classes, has previously stepped down as wild card for the Red Bull KTM team in the previous season. He finished in sixth place in the race sprintsand seventh position in the main race of the 2023 Spanish MotoGP.

Apart from that, Pedrosa also recorded a proud achievement by finishing in fourth position in the race sprints at the San Marino MotoGP last year.

However, Beirer emphasized that the final decision whether Pedrosa will race or not this year depends entirely on Pedrosa's own wishes.

“We have a commitment not to force him to race. The final decision is his, if he wants to return to the track. However, from the results of this week's testing, we see he is back strong and fast, I think he is ready. He just needs to say 'yes', and we will support it fully,” he added.

Although there has been no official confirmation from KTM regarding Pedrosa's return to the MotoGP grid as wild cardhis presence will certainly be one of the main highlights of this year's Spanish MotoGP.

With the record of achievements he achieved at Jerez and San Marino last year, it is not impossible for Pedrosa to finish on the podium again this year.
