Luka Modric to Sign New Contract in Madrid
– Despite turning 38 at the end of this year, midfielder Luka Modric is still an important part of Real Madrid’s first team.
The Croatian has missed just five La Liga games this season, and started eight Champions League games on their way to the semi-finals.
spanish Media, Relevoclaiming that terms had been agreed and a contract had been worked out for Modric to sign a one-year extension at the club.
Now both parties just need to put their signatures on the contract. If there are no obstacles everything will be finished before Real Madrid’s match against Manchester City in the middle of the week.
Modric will remain one of the club’s highest-paid players, but it is said he is willing to sign a contract without a raise due to his desire to remain at Madrid.
The midfielder is currently a doubt for the first leg against City due to a hamstring injury, although he has returned to training in recent days.
