Mikel Arteta believes the duel against Manchester City will not determine the Premier League title

Liputan6.com, Jakarta – Arsenal will challenge Manchester City in Week 33 of the Premier League at the Etihad Stadium, Thursday (27/4/2023) at 02.00 WIB.

With regard to this crucial match, the Gunners manager Mikel Arteta believes the duel against his former boss Pep Guardiola will not determine who will win the Premier League title.

“If we win the game we haven’t won the league, that’s for sure. It might shift the percentages a little bit, but with five games to go after this, it’s still going to be tough. We want to close that gap as much as we can. We knew we had to go to the Etihad. Will it define the season? The answer is no,” said the 41-year-old manager.

As is known, Arsenal are currently still at the top of the Premier League standings with five points difference from Man City in second place. However, Guardiola’s squad still has two games to spare and that’s why the fight at the Etihad is considered to determine where the league trophy will go.

Arsenal themselves in their previous three league matches have always failed to gain full points where they had to be content with three consecutive draws, two of which came after they were two goals ahead.
