Mourinho Was Rewarded Absent in 4 Matches for Harassing Taylor

– AS Roma coach Jose Mourinho has been banned from accompanying the team in four matches by UEFA for his behavior in last month’s Europa League final.

The Portuguese coach faced widespread criticism after he abused English referee Anthony Taylor following his side’s loss to Sevilla.

UEFA also announced West Ham supporters would be barred from attending their next away game in European competition, with further matches being suspended for two years.

It was linked to Hammers fans throwing objects onto the pitch during their European Conference Final win over Fiorentina in Prague earlier this month.

Italian club defender Cristiano Biraghi suffered a head injury as a result of an object thrown by the crowd.

Mourinho criticized Taylor in his post-match press conference and, in video footage which later appeared on social media, the former Chelsea and Manchester United manager can be seen gesticulating at Taylor and officials in the stadium parking lot and can be heard saying “disgrace”.

Mourinho was charged by UEFA on June 2.

Subsequent video footage of Taylor being chanted by an angry Roma supporter at Budapest Airport was condemned by the Premier League and Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL).

West Ham condemned the behavior of some of their supporters after Biraghi suffered a head injury.

A club statement issued on the eve of the final concluded, “In line with our zero tolerance approach, anyone identified will have their details passed to police and will be given an indefinite ban and therefore unable to enter the London Stadium and travel with the club. There is no place for this type of behavior at West Ham United.”

UEFA confirmed West Ham had also been fined 8,000 euros (Rp 131 million) for breaking onto the pitch of play.
