Persija Gets Back Marko Simic

– Surprising news came from Persija, who have again hooked up with Marko Simic. The player who has brought four championship trophies to the Capital City will continue his service for two seasons.

“Persija and Simic will fight together again. Simic must be able to adapt quickly to the strategy coach Thomas Doll wants. He must show maximum contribution next season,” said Mohamad Prapanca, President of the Persija Club as quoted by the club’s official website, Tuesday (20/6/2023).

Simic has defended the Kemayoran Tigers from 2018 to 2022. During that time he has contributed to winning titles in the 2018 President’s Cup, 2018 Boost Fix Super Cup, 2018 1st League, and 2021 Menpora Cup.

In addition to achieving achievements with the team, he was also supported to achieve great achievements individually. He was listed as the 2018 President’s Cup Best Player, 2018 President’s Cup Top Score (11 goals), 2019 League 1 Top Score (28), and 2020 East Java Governor’s Cup Top Score (6).

Simic still has big ambitions in himself to maintain Persija’s glory. He wanted to return the favor to the Capital Team who had become a beautiful port for him.

If maximum achievements as a team and individually have been achieved in the Indonesian League, he wants to make Persija roar even louder on the continental stage, namely the AFC level.

“I am very happy to be back to Persija again. There are still targets that I aim for Persija. I am also very interested in being involved in the big team plans that are currently being built,” said Simic.

“In this second opportunity, I have to be able to give the best for Persija as the team gave it to me. I don’t want to talk about the past. Right now, my goal is to give my best for the team,” said Simic.
