PSSI Chairman Asks PT LIB to Align Competition with National Team Schedule

Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – General Chair of the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI), Erick Thohir, asked PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB) to prepare a domestic competition schedule that is in line with the Indonesian National Team's match schedule.

At the PSSI Executive Committee (Exco PSSI) meeting with the President Director of PT LIB, Erick expressed his request that PT LIB create a competition calendar until 2027.

The main goal is so that the league competition schedule does not collide with the Indonesian National Team's match schedule. Erick emphasized the need for comprehensive planning that involves coordination between all relevant parties to determine which competitions should be temporarily suspended or continued when there are national team matches.

“I want there to be a discussion between the league, PSSI and of course BTN, which ones we stop and which ones we don't, but we have planned until 2027,” said Erick Thohir.

He also mentioned the future competition agenda for the Indonesian national team, such as the SEA Games, Asian Games and others, which need to be carefully considered.

In this context, it is hoped that adjustments to the match agenda can produce harmony between the Indonesian national team and the league for the progress of football in this country.

“There is a club AFF, there is a national team AFF, whether it stops or not,” he concluded.
