On the other hand, Apple is reportedly working on EarPods with a USB-C cable for the iPhone 15 lineup, which will be released in the coming months. These devices will be an alternative to the AirPods covered under the Made for iPhone (MFi) program.

This news was leaked by a well-known leakster, ShrimpApplePro, through his Twitter account. He stated that the MFi or Made for iPhone program for USB-C cables and this new version of EarPods is currently in mass production.

Information from this leakster circulated in the midst of new regulations set by the European Union in October 2022. This rule requires the use of the USB C port as a universal charging standard for all devices marketed there.
