Scaloni Calls the Argentina National Team Don’t Want to Underestimate the Garuda Squad
Argentina national team coach, Lionel Scaloni admits that he does not want to underestimate the Indonesian national team even though his team is the 2023 World Cup champion, in the FIFA Matchday Indonesia vs Argentina which will be held Monday (19/6/2023) tomorrow.
Admittedly, the quality of Indonesia and Argentina is quite different. Argentina, who is the current 2022 World Cup champion, is also ranked first in FIFA. While Indonesia is ranked 149th FIFA.
However, this did not make Scaloni underestimate Indonesia. In fact, he said Shin Tae-yong’s troops had good quality.
“Indonesia is a good team and has good technique, of course it’s not easy for us to play against Indonesia,” said Scaloni, in a press conference the day before the match at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK) media center, Jakarta, Sunday (18/6/ 2023).
Meanwhile, Scaloni did not bring his three star players such as Lionel Messi, Angel Di Maria and Nicolas Ottamendi.
But the 24 players he brought remained a strong Argentinian squad.
Because of that, Scaloni ensured that he would rotate to face the Indonesian national team. Players who started the game against Australia last week will be rested. Meanwhile, the reserve player will play from the first minute.

Scaloni’s decision to rotate was because he wanted to experiment, not belittle the Indonesian national team. According to him, the Indonesia vs Argentina match will be a very interesting match.
“The player rotation that we will do in the match later is not because Indonesia is weak. But I want to try something new and just want to experiment,” he said.
The Argentina national team will face the Indonesian national team in the FIFA Matchday match at the Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK), Jakarta, Monday 19 June 2023 at 19.30 WIB
