Schedule for the Top 16 of the 2024 Asian Badminton Championships, 6 Indonesian Representatives Advance

Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – Indonesia sent six Indonesian representatives to the round of 16 of the 2024 Badminton Asia Championship (BAC) in Ningbo, China, Thursday (11/4/2024).

In the mixed doubles sector, Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari will face world champions South Korea, Seo Seung-jae/Chae Yu-jung. Previously, Rinov/Pitha managed to advance to the round of 16 after defeating the Japanese pair, Hiroki Midorikawa/Natsu Saito, in a tight match 21-13, 14-21, 21-18 in the first round of BAC 2024, Wednesday (10/4/2024) .

Another Indonesian mixed doubles, Dejan Ferdinansyah/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja, will face another South Korean representative, Kim Won-ho/Jeong Na-eun, in the second match. Dejan/Gloria managed to qualify for the round of 16 after defeating the Malaysian pair, Tan Kian Meng/Lai Pei Jing, with a score of 21-19, 21-11, in the round of 32.

Meanwhile, Indonesia's top men's doubles champion, Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto, will face Taiwan's representative, Lu Ching Yuan/Yang Po Han. Fajar/Rian, who are also the sixth seeds in the tournament, are the only remaining Indonesian men's doubles representatives.

In the previous round, Fajar/Rian managed to beat the Thai pair, Pharanyu Kaosamaang/Worrapol Thongsa-Nga, with a score of 21-16, 21-16 in the first round.

In the women's singles sector, Gregoria Mariska Tunjung will face Taiwan's representative, Pai Yu Po, in the round of 16. Gregoria previously won the match against Japanese women's singles, Natsuki Nidaira, with a score of two straight games 21-9, 21-14 in the round of 32.
