This is the obligation of digital platforms to support quality journalism after publisher rights have been signed

Responding to Publisher Rights which have been approved by the government, Google Indonesia said it would immediately study this regulation.

“We understand the government has passed regulations regarding news publishers, and we will soon study the details,” said a Google Indonesia representative via short message to Tekno Liputan6.com.

Google claims that so far they have been working with news publishers and the government to support and build the future of a sustainable news ecosystem in Indonesia.

“It is important for our products to present diverse news and perspectives without prejudice or bias,” he said.

In this joint effort, Google said it always emphasizes the need to ensure that Indonesian people have access to a variety of news sources, and also the need to strive for a balanced news ecosystem in Indonesia.

“Including an ecosystem that can produce quality news for everyone, while also enabling all news publishers, both large and small, to develop,” concluded Google Indonesia.
