22 Stadiums Will Be Prepared to Become U-17 World Cup Venues

– Indonesia is preparing to host the 2023 U-17 World Cup. A total of 22 stadiums have been prepared for this grand event including the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) and the Manahan Solo Stadium.

Menpora Dito Ariotedjo said there were 22 stadiums in Indonesia that were deemed suitable as venues for the U-17 World Cup.

“Actually, it’s not only JIS, but there are 22 stadiums throughout Indonesia. So not only JIS means we also see all of these 22 stadiums. assessment anything that needs to be repaired and ready to use,” explained Dito when met at Solo TeknoPark (5/7/2023).

Dito admitted that he had a direct survey of the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) during his visit. He saw that the infrastructure presented by JIS was very luxurious and magnificent like stadiums in European countries, even though there were a number of deficiencies that needed to be corrected.

Of the 22 stadiums, Dito said the Manahan Solo Stadium was also included in the list of venues for the U-17 World Cup. However, Dito could not confirm whether the Manahan Stadium would be used for the U-17 World Cup because it had to be assessment from FIFA.

“22 stadiums in Indonesia, Manahan is one that was proposed by PSSI and of course FIFA will have the right to do so assessment and decide,” he explained.

For information, Indonesia was appointed by FIFA to replace Peru as host of the U-17 World Cup. The city of Solo immediately proposed to PSSI to become one of the match locations. The plan is for the U-17 World Cup to be held from 10 November to 2 December 2023.
