8 Indonesian Badminton Players Subject to Lifetime Sanctions from BWF, There's Agrippina the Tarkam King

Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – The Badminton World Federation (BWF) has given eight Indonesian badminton players severe sanctions of up to life for their involvement in betting or match-fixing cases (match fixing). Of the eight names, one of them is the tarkam king Agriprinna Prima Rahmanto Putra.

Agriprinna Prima Rahmanto Putra is known as the king of tarkam. Marcus Fernaldi Gideon's former tandem often shares videos and photos while competing in unofficial events known as tarkam (inter-village). Agripinna Prima Rahmanto Putra was banned from participating in badminton activities until January 18 2026. This eccentric player was also fined US$ 3,000.

Apart from Agrippina, quoted from the official BWF website, Sunday (31/3/2024), there are seven Indonesian badminton players who have been sanctioned, namely Hendra Tandjaya (men's doubles, mixed doubles), Ivandi Danang (men's doubles, mixed doubles), Androw Yunanto (men's singles and doubles), Sekartaji Putri (women's singles, mixed doubles), Mia Mawarti (women's singles and doubles), Fadilla Afni (mixed doubles), and Aditiya Dwiantoro (men's doubles).

It was reported that Hendra Tandjaya, Ivandi Danang and Androw Yunanto were sentenced to not be involved in badminton activities for life.

Mia Mawarti and Fadilla Afni are not allowed to take part in any badminton activities until January 18 2030. Apart from that, they were fined US$ 10,000.

Sekartaji Putri is prohibited from participating in badminton activities until January 18 2032. She was also fined US$ 12,000.

Meanwhile, Aditiya Dwiantoro is prohibited from participating in badminton until 2027. Aditiya must also pay a fine of US$ 7,000.

This BWF sanction is a follow-up to the accusations leveled at the relevant players in 2021.

“The names of the players below are not permitted to compete in any (competition),” said BWF.

Apart from the eight Indonesian badminton players, there are two Malaysian players, one Brunei Darussalam player and one Indian player who have also received sanctions from the BWF due to more or less the same problems or accusations.
