AJC 2023: Ruzana Fails to Lead Indonesia to Finish India Early

– Women’s singles, Ruzana, has not been able to ensure that Indonesia will advance to the semifinals of the 2023 Badminton Asia Junior Championships (AJC) after being defeated by India’s representatives.

Competing at the Amongraga Sports Hall, Yogyakarta, Monday (10/7/2023), Ruzana surrendered to Rakshitha Sree Santhosh Ramraj in a three-game battle with a score of 18-21, 21-10, 21-23.

“I’m trying to fix the shortcomings, especially on the problem of match focus. It is hoped that with an evaluation of my game I can be much better going forward,” said Ruzana.

In this match, Indonesia opened the scoring through mixed doubles Adrian Pratama/Felisha Alberta Nathaniel Pasaribu. Adrian/Felisha won two straight games over Samarveer/Radhika Sharma with a score of 21-16, 21-15.

The team nicknamed the Young and White Reds doubled their position to 2-0 through team captain Alwi Farhan. In the second men’s singles match, the world number 96 won against Ayush Shetty with a score of 18-21, 21-15, 21-19.
