Appearing Nicely During Debut, Adrian/Felisha Brings Indonesia to the Top of Vietnam

– Mixed doubles, Adrian Pratama/Felisha Alberta Nathaniel Pasaribu performed well in their debut at the Asian Junior Badminton Championships.

Adrian/Felisha opened the scoring for the Indonesian team at the 2023 BNI Badminton Asia Junior Championships (AJC) after overcoming Vietnam’s Van Truong Pham/Bich Phuong Bui.

Competing at the Amongraga Sports Hall, Yogyakarta, Saturday (8/7) morning, Adrian/Felisha won two straight games with a score of 21-15, 21-12.

In this match, the pair who just debuted at AJC 2023 are still adapting to the windy field conditions. It can be seen that the couple from Uncle Ho’s country are trying to pressure Adrian/Felisha from this condition.

Luckily Adrian/Felisha were able to get out of the pressure and closed the first game with a 21-15 advantage.

In the second game, Adrian/Felisha’s game was more comfortable so it didn’t take long to close the match in 32 minutes with 21-12.

“We had a hard time adapting to the pitch. The windy field conditions made it a little difficult for us. This condition is much different from the practice time, so we are having a bit of a hard time,” said Adrian.

This victory actually boosted the confidence of the Adrian/Felisha pair. Both said they were satisfied with their game in the first match and hoped that their slick trend could continue.

“It feels good to win in this fight. Plus we just partnered together. We made our debut by winning, hopefully the results will be satisfactory,” added Felisha.

After this win, Adrian Pratama/Felisha Alberta Nathaniel Pasaribu will focus recovery first to prepare for the next game.

“After this we want recovery first. Facing China (China) in the next party. We prepared mentally and had to focus from the start if we were to be deployed later,” said Adrian.

The world’s 96th ranked player will face Vietnam’s men’s singles, Quoc Khanh Tran in the second match.
