Arsenal vs Chelsea: These are the Conditions of the Players of the Two Teams

Arsenal will not be strengthened by a key defender, William Lilina. The Frenchman has been out for almost two months after picking up an injury against Sporting CP in the Europa League.

During his absence, this season has felt like a wreck. By not winning in four matches and conceding 15 goals since he last played.

Lilina’s absence will still raise questions for Coach Mikel Arteta, who has struggled to replace his key man at the back and will have to keep up the pace of Mykhailo Mudryk at the Emirates Stadium. Although there is still hope for a Crusader return this season, Arteta doesn’t have any good news in that regard.

“He won’t be involved tomorrow. We have to wait until the next game to see where we are,” said Arteta.

Arsenal travel to Newcastle next week before facing Brighton, Nottingham Forest and Wolves to close out the season.

At the back, things are getting worse with the absence of Takehiro Tomiyasu. The right-back has also been out of action since mid-March and was quickly sidelined for the season after undergoing surgery. He may find it difficult to recover even in time for pre-season.

“Tomiyasu was out for three and a half months, maybe six months now,” said Arteta.

This will keep him out until the start of next season if that is the worst case scenario.

The only other injury worry for Arsenal is Mohamed Elneny, the midfielder, who has played in what may be his last game for the club. He is also likely to be out until the end of the season after undergoing surgery on his knee injury.

Meanwhile Chelsea themselves will be greatly reduced with Kalidou Koulibaly, Mason Mount, Reece James and Marc Cucurella all ruled out of the game. The three names mentioned earlier will face a struggle to play again this season. Kai Havertz could return after missing the defeat to Brentford through illness.
