Atalanta Beats Liverpool, Roma Beats AC Milan

Liverpool, Beritasatu.com – Liverpool unexpectedly lost 3-0 to Atalanta in the first leg of the Europa League quarter-finals, Friday (12/4/2024) early morning WIB. Atalanta player, Gianluca Scamacca scored two goals in this match.

In another match, hosts AC Milan narrowly lost 1-0 to fellow Italian club AS Roma. Meanwhile German League leaders Bayer Leverkusen secured a 2-0 home win over West Ham United.

Atalanta took the lead at Liverpool in the 38th minute when an unmarked Scamacca met Davide Zappacosta's cross to fire past goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher.

Meanwhile, late goals from Bayer Leverkusen substitutes Jonas Hofmann and Victor Boniface put the Bundesliga leaders two goals ahead of West Ham. This result makes Leverkusen unbeaten with 37 wins and five draws in all competitions this season.

Leverkusen dominated the game, but visiting goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski made a series of saves and thwarted dangerous efforts from Alejandro Grimaldo and Patrik Schick to keep the scores level at the break.

Hofmann gave Leverkusen the lead in the 83rd minute, scoring with a first-time effort and striker Boniface doubled the lead in stoppage time with a header.

The home team, who could win the Bundesliga title on Sunday, made 33 attempts on goal, 13 on target. Meanwhile, West Ham only made one attack on target by midfielder Mohammed Kudus.

Meanwhile, Roma managed to disappoint Milan's home fans when Gianluca Mancini scored to end the Italian capital club's nine-game winless streak against Stefano Pioli's side.

Roma, who last beat Milan in 2019, took the lead thanks to Mancini's precise header from Paulo Dybala's corner in the 17th minute.
