Getting Stricter, Google Blocks Fake Emails to Fight Phishing and Spam Attacks
For your information, 20 years ago, on March 31 2004 to be precise, Google mentioned their plans to present a new email service along with April 1, aka April Fool's Day or April Fool's Day.
At that time, this company headquartered in California, USA, had become the largest search engine company and wanted to complement this by offering email services.
Just so you know, 20 years ago, email services were still controlled by MSN via Hotmail and Yahoo Mail.
Furthermore, on April 1 of the same year, aka April Fool's Day 2004, Google officially announced Gmail via a press release. Uniquely, the press release was suspicious and designed as if it were just a joke (because it was released to coincide with April Fool's Day).
Twenty years later, Gmail has become the most popular email service with 1.8 billion users in the world. This figure is equivalent to 22 percent of the world's population.
When releasing this product, this company under Alphabet used a unique combination of marketing, a user-focused approach, and its ability to reach the cyber world.
Now, the way users use Gmail changes over the years. Likewise with how Gmail uses its users' personal information.
With the emergence of generative AI, Google's Gmail can now analyze data from users' email content to deliver more targeted marketing campaigns to users' inboxes, with easy-to-understand conversational language.
