Indonesian Air Force Volleyball Star Hany Budiarti Wants to Follow Megawati Hangestri to Play at Asian Level

Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – Indonesian Air Force volleyball player Hany Budiarti wants to follow his teammate Megawati Hangesti Pertiwi in playing at an Asian level club. Megawati Hangestri currently appears in the Korean Volleyball League with her club Red Sparks competing.

“There is definitely a desire. First of all, I want to go to Thailand because ASEAN is the best there, but maybe there are club factors and so on because I am also a member of the Indonesian Air Force so it is difficult for me to get permission to leave,” said Hany Budiarti, Saturday (23/3 /2024).

Hany believes that Megawati Hangestri deserves to enter the Asian volleyball stage. However, the player who is currently strengthening Jakarta Pertamina Fastron believes that Megawati must go to Europe.

“Maybe in Asia it's already feasible, but in Europe it's because of the height factor and maybe a team should recruit Mega there first. Mega is tall in Asia, but not tall in Europe, 184 cm may not compete with Europeans with height 192 cm for women,” said Hany.

Apart from focusing on testing Megawati Hangestri's abilities in the match entitled Fun Volleyball between Indonesia All Star and Red Sparks, Hany will prepare to compete in the 2024 Proliga.

Positional players opposite hitter The target is that Jakarta Pertamina Fastron will at least penetrate the final four of the 2024 Proliga. With the current team squad, Hany believes the composition of players is able to compete until the final four.

“Maybe the target is to get to the Proliga final four first, then we will focus on the grand final, God willing. I'm optimistic. Because most of the (players) are on the same team, teamwork is not a problem,” said the former Petrokimia Gresik player.
