Kevin/Marcus Still Have a Chance to Go to the 2024 Paris Olympics

Duet Kevin / Rahmat is a senior and junior pair. Kevin will be 28 years old on August 5. Rahmat, on June 17, was only 20 years old.

“Because this (Kevin/Rahmat) is a trial. Kevin is more senior paired with Rahmat. So it takes a process even though they have practiced together in practice,” said Sigit Budiarto

Regarding the senior-junior combination being more suitable in men’s doubles than their peers, he considered it very flexible. That is, there are times when senior-junior pairs are paired or paired with partners of the same age.

“Because in doubles, two people become one. So you have to get chemistry. If, for example, you are the same age or senior-junior you don’t get chemistry, it will be difficult too. It’s a bit complicated in doubles. So there’s no standard. Those who are the same age don’t necessarily have to be,” said the couple Candra Wijaya, Bambang Suprianto, Luluk Hadiyanto, and Markis Kido.

But, he continued, to boost junior confidence or experience, a combination of senior-junior can be paired. That’s what happened between Kevin and Rahmat.
