League 1: Appears Dominant, Persija Holds Persikabo Draw

– Persija Jakarta played a goalless draw against host Persikabo in the second match of League 1 2023/2024 season at Pakansari Stadium, Cibinong, Bogor Regency, Sunday (9/7/2023) evening WIB.

“Macan Kemayoran” -Persija’s nickname actually appeared dominant in this match. However, Persikabo’s solid defense made it difficult for Thomas Doll’s troops.

Persija immediately intensified pressure from the early minutes of the first half. The first opportunity came from Persikabo when Lucki’s shot was blocked by goalkeeper Andritany in the 20th minute.

Nine minutes later, Riko Simanjuntak received Rio Fahmi’s cutback. Unfortunately, Riko’s shot in the penalty area still went over the crossbar.

Persija was made difficult to dismantle Persikabo’s tight defense. As a result, the first half ended goalless.

Persija’s domination continued in the second half. Several times, Riko Simanjuntak’s efforts were able to be troublesome, although they did not produce results.

This was Persija’s second draw after holding the defending champions PSM Makassar 1-1 in the first match.
