League 1: Bend Bhayangkara, PSIS Perched at the Top of the Standings

– PSIS Semarang sits at the top of the League 1 standings after beating Bhayangkara FC, 3-1, at Jatidiri Stadium, Semarang, Monday (3/7/023) evening.

The victory in their first action has made PSIS now perch in first place in the standings with three points. Apart from PSIS, there are five other teams that have collected three points due to their success in winning their first game, namely Barito Putera, Persebaya Surabaya, Rans Nusantara, Dewa United and PSS Sleman.

Meanwhile, Bhayangkara had to settle for being in 17th place after not getting any points in their first action.

Starting the first half, as the host, PSIS immediately took the initiative to attack. However, in the first 15 minutes of the match, Bhayangkara FC managed to match the host’s game.

Bhayangkara even managed to score a goal in the 25th minute through M Ragil, who managed to get past the PSIS defender. The 1-0 score for Bhayangkara FC’s advantage lasted until the end of the first half.

In the second half, PSIS, which was lagging behind, continued to try to take the initiative to attack and create several opportunities through Taisei Marukawa and Carlos Fortes.

PSIS’s first goal was created in the 85th minute through a corner kick which was put to good use by Carlos Fortes.

Even though they conceded, Bhayangkara tried to attack to score additional goals. However, it was PSIS who managed to add goals in extra time through Gali Freitas and Boubakary Diarra. The 3-1 score for PSIS Semarang’s victory remained until the end of the match.

Bhayangkara FC coach, Emral Ebus, revealed that his players performed well in the opening match.

“The players played well, according to the instructions given,” he said.

However, he was disappointed because Bhayangkara conceded two goals in the final minutes of the match.

During the first half break, Agius gave motivation to the players to play well in the second half, and the results were seen by the creation of three goals.
