League 1: Left Behind, Rans Rises and Conquers Persikabo

– Coming from behind, Rans Nusantara FC got up and beat Persikabo 1973, 2-1, in the inaugural match of the 1st League 2023/2024 season at Maguwoharjo Stadium, Sleman, Monday (3/7/2023).

Despite falling behind in the first half, Rans Nusantara FC managed to turn things around after Mitsuru Marouka scored two goals via penalty kicks.

With this victory, Rans Nusantara FC is now in third place in the 2023/2024 Indonesian League 1 standings, while Persikabo 1973 is in 14th place.

In that match, Persikabo became the team that took the initiative to attack and succeeded in winning in the 6th minute through a goal scored by Nikola Kovacevic. This goal was created after a free kick from Roni Sugeng was successfully used by the Serbian midfielder to score against Rans.

Despite being one goal behind, Rans, coached by Eduardo Almeida, kept trying to find an equalizer. However, until the end of the first half, Persikabo still maintained a 1-0 advantage.

Entering the second half, Rans was still trying to score an equalizer and finally got a golden opportunity after being awarded a penalty.

Rans midfielder from Japan, Mitsuru Marouka, managed to carry out his duties well as a penalty taker. Syahrul Trisna could not reach his penalty kick, so the score changed to a 1-1 draw in the 54th minute.

In the 75th minute, Persikabo had to play with 10 players after their defender, Andy Setyo, was sent off by referee Bangkit Sanjaya for getting a second yellow card due to a hard violation.

Rans took advantage of the man advantage and managed to turn things around towards the end of the second half after winning a penalty when Erwin Ramdani was fouled in the box.

Marouka, who again became the penalty taker, successfully carried out his duties well and brought Rans 2-1 up in 90+3 minutes. The score lasted until the end of the match.

Furthermore, Rans Nusantara FC will visit Bhayangkara FC headquarters in the second week of the Indonesian League 1, which will take place on Sunday, July 9th. Meanwhile, Persikabo 1973 will host Persija Jakarta on the same day.
