Opening the Wirabraja Horse Race, Prabowo Promises Superior Horse Breeds

– Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto promised to provide superior horse seeds to the Minang people. This was stated by Prabowo when opening the Wirabraja Tanah Datar Open Race and Traditional horse racing event which was held in Tanah Datar Regency, West Sumatra, Sunday (30/4/2023).

“I am very proud of the Regent and Regional Government of Tanah Datar Regency and I feel like I always want to come back here. I hear that the people of West Sumatra really hope for the help of stud horses,” said Prabowo.

“God willing, if there is feedback from the ninik mamak or the local government to prepare the land, I will send horses to W Sumatra, but with the condition that he is an animal lover, so he must be sure that the horses are well cared for,” added Prabowo.

The General Chairperson of the Gerindra Party conveyed to the Tanah Datar Regional Government to continue to develop equestrian sport for its people. This is because racing horses have become a cultural heritage for the daily life of the Tanah Datar people.

“I was often on this field when I was little. I was five years old. It’s the same as coming back to my hometown. West Sumatra is like a second hometown for me. Thank you, I was accepted here,” said Prabowo.

Prabowo also hopes that in the future equestrian sports can develop rapidly not only in West Sumatra but also nationally. Because this sport will give enthusiasm to the youth.

“If there are young people or talented jockeys, send them to Jakarta. We will train all areas of equestrian. Hopefully they can represent us on the national and international stages,” concluded the Ketum Gerindra.

The Open Race and Traditional Wirabraja Tanah Datar Horse Race will take place April 30 to May 1 2023 at the Dang Tuanku Bukit Gombak Horse Racecourse, Tanah Datar.
