The world-class junior badminton tournament plays three categories namely U-15, U-17 and U-19 with a total of 14 events, consisting of men’s singles, men’s doubles and mixed doubles. Especially for mixed doubles, only playing U-17 and U-19.

“This activity is an honor for Jaya Raya to again hold a Grand Prix-level junior tournament this year. The hope is not only success as an organizer but also successful achievements from Indonesian junior players, especially those assisted by PB Jaya Raya,” said Aris Siswoko, Chair of the Organizing Committee.

This tournament in 2016 had risen to the Grand Prix level. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic in mid-2020-2021 there were no matches, so it dropped back to the Challenge level for the 2022 event. This year, this tournament returned to the Grand Prix level and immediately received high interest from its participants.

“This is an opportunity for Indonesian badminton players to gain ranking points without having to leave the country. Domestic athletes can also use foreign athletes as a barometer to measure strength and match results will be used as material for assessing and evaluating athlete training and education programs in the junior age group.” Aris added.
