Pellegrini and Barella lead Italy to victory over Ecuador

Jakarta, Beritasatu.com – The Italian national team (national team) won 2-0 over Ecuador in a friendly match at the Red Bull Arena, New Jersey on Monday (25/3/2024) early morning WIB. Gli Azzuri's two winning goals were created by Lorenzo Pellegrini and Nicolo Barella.

Italy opened the scoring after three minutes of the game. Lorenzo Pellegrini got his name on the scoreboard to give Italy a 1-0 lead.

This goal started from Federico Dimarco's free kick which hit the Ecuadorian player's posse. The rebound went to Pellegrini who then fired a shot from outside the penalty box.

Ecuador tried to reply to the goal through a counterattack. Barella failed to block a cross from the right. However, Moises Caicedo's final finish was wide of the goal.

The score was 1-0 for Italy's advantage to last until the break.

Italy had a chance at the start of the second half. Pellegrini's free kick was followed by Zaniolo with a header. But unfortunately, the ball was still wide.

Italy doubled its lead to 2-0 in injury time or the 90+4th minute. Nicolo Barella broke into Ecuador's goal after receiving a through ball from Riccardo Orsolini.

This goal closed the match. Italy won 2-0 over Ecuador.

This is the second victory achieved by Italy in two test matches in this international break. Previously, Luciano Spalletti's troops won 2-1 over Venezuela.
