Persib failed to win, Luis Milla still appreciates the players’ struggles

– Persib coach Luis Milla continues to appreciate the players’ struggles despite being disappointed with the 1-1 draw against Madura United in the first week of League 1 2023/2024 at the Gelora Bandung Lautan Api Stadium, Sunday (2/7/2023) yesterday.

“This is football. I feel happy with the spirit and struggle of the players even though we should have been able to get better results than this,” Milla said as quoted by Persib’s official website.

In the match in front of thousands of players, Persib fell behind after their goal was broken by Hugo Gomes when the match had only been running for five minutes.

Persib was only able to reply through David da Silva’s penalty in the 78th minute.

“The players have also tried to go through both wings, they played well. In the second half, the team worked and fought until they finally scored and equalized,” said Milla.

Milla admitted, it’s not easy for any team to start their first match, let alone playing at home.

“I think this is a typical start of the season. It’s a tough game for both teams,” said Milla.
