Taipei Open 2023: Chico to the semifinals, KW’s daughter bounces

– Indonesian men’s singles, Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo has made it to the semifinals of the 2023 Taipei Open. Chico advanced after defeating Kenta Nishimoto straight games at Tian Mu Arena, Friday (23/6/2023).

Chico performed well in this match. In the first set, she had a 5-3 lead but was equalized 5-5 and 6-6. After that, slowly he was able to improve his game and regained his lead 10-9 to 13-9. The advantage continued to be maintained until closing the first set with a 21-13 victory.

Chico’s consistency continued in the second set. After winning 5-2, Chico kept it up to 11-9 in the second interval. His dominance continued until Chico closed the game with a 21-15 victory.

Unfortunately, two other Indonesian representatives, namely mixed doubles, Jafar Hidayatullah / Aisyah Salsabila Putri Pranata and Putri Kusuma Wardana, lost.

Jafar/Aisyah were defeated by the host pair, Chiu Hsiang Chieh/Lin Xiao Min in a three game match with a score of 12-21, 21-19, 17-21 with a duration of 52 minutes.

After that it was Putri KW’s turn to pick up her suitcase. Indonesia’s only mainstay in the women’s singles gave up losing to Beiwen Zhang 15-21, 17-21.

This result means Putri KW has yet to win over her opponent in two meetings after previously being defeated at the Thailand Masters 2023.
