WhatsApp users can now pin 3 messages at once, making it easier to find important messages

Liputan6.com, Jakarta – WhatsApp is known to have launched the ability to embed or pin messages in personal conversations and chat groups since December last year. However, this capability is only limited to one message per conversation.

Nevertheless, as quoted from GSM Arena, Monday (25/3/2024), this will apparently change. Because, WhatsApp now allows users to pin more than one message, up to three messages to be precise.

This capability update was announced directly by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Head of WhatsApp Will Cathcart.

They revealed that WA users can now pin up to three messages at once, both in private conversations and chat groups.

The message formats that can be embedded in the WhatsApp application also vary, from text, images, to polls. To pin a message, users just long press the intended message.

After that, users just have to choose the pin option that appears, as well as its duration. If not set, WhatsApp's default duration is 7 days.

Meanwhile, other duration options that users can choose are 24 hours or 30 days. After the set duration has passed, the message will automatically appear from the pin list in the chat column.

For conversations within groups, admins also allow members to pin messages. Later, for every message pinned in the chat application, all members in the group will receive a notification.

However, WhatsApp users who just join after the message is pinned, will not be able to see the notification.

Likewise, users who do not have a conversation history in the group or have deleted it, will not be able to see the notification.
