3 Men’s Doubles Shown, Here’s the Schedule for Indonesian Representatives at BAC, Thursday (27/4)

– As many as 12 representatives of Indonesia will appear at the Badminton Asia Championships today, Thursday (27/4/2023), including three men’s doubles at the Sheikh Rashid Bin Hamdan Indoor Hall, Al Nasr Club.

The three men’s doubles are world number one pair Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto, Muhammad Shohibul Fikri/Bagas Maulana, and third seed Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan.

Other representatives of the Red and White Team who will play today are 2 men’s singles, Anthony Sinisuka Ginting and Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo; 3 mixed doubles Praveen Jordan/Melati Daeva Oktavianti, Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari, Dejan Ferdinansyah/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja; 2 women’s singles Gregoria Mariska Tunjung and Komang Ayu Cahya Dewi and 2 women’s doubles Febriana Dwipuji Kusuma/Amalia Cahaya Pratiwi and Meilysa Trias Puspitasari/Rachel Allessya Rose.

Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto will be challenged in doubles by Taiwanese Lee Jhe-Huei/Yang Po-Hsuan. The two couples have met three times and all of them have been won by Fajar/Rian. The last meeting of these two doubles took place at the All England, last March 2023. At that time Fajar/Rian won over the 22nd place, 22-20 and 21-15.

The third seeds, Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan, will meet Chinese doubles, Ren Xiang Yu/Tan Qiang. Ahsan/Hendra have met the 20th ranked pair three times and won twice.

In men’s singles, Anthony Sinisuka Ginting will face Japan’s Kenta Nishimoto. Ginting has met the 12th ranked seven times and won five of them.

Ginting’s last meeting against Nishimoto took place at the 2022 Malaysia Masters. At that time Gintiing defeated Kenta with a score of 8-21, 21-14, and 22-20.

Ginting’s partner in men’s singles number Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo will meet eighth seed Prannoy HS. These two badminton players have met twice and beat each other. In their last meeting at the 2023 Malaysia Open, Chico lost 9-21, 21-15, and 16-21.

Two Indonesian women’s doubles, Gregoria Mariska Tunjung and Komang Ayu Cahya Dewi had to beat each other today to win tickets to the quarter-finals. Facing his seniors, Komang admitted that he would play free. He hopes to absorb a lot of knowledge and experience from the 2023 Spain Master champion.

Komang admitted that he was happy to be able to advance to the second round, especially when he was recovering from injury.

Gregoria admits that she will improve her playing pattern in the match against her junior, Komang, who is 3 years younger than her.

“Tomorrow I want to be maximal and for sure Komang will also do the same. He also definitely has a target to beat me. Hopefully tomorrow I won’t be burdened because Komang is younger than me and several times my results have not been good against my juniors,” said the badminton player the 23 year old.

The round of 16 match at Sheikh Rashid Bin Hamdan Indoor Hall, Al Nasr Club on each field will start at 11.00 Dubai time or 14.00 WIB.
