Ginting Wins the Title, Here’s the List of BAC 2023 Champions

– Men’s singles, Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, led Indonesia to win a title at the Badminton Asia Championships (BAC) 2023.

The Cimahi-born athlete won after defeating Loh Kean Yew, Sunday (30/4/2023).

The second ranked badminton player became the champion after defeating the Singaporean representative with a score of 21-12 and 21-8. Ginting only needed 28 minutes to secure the title in Dubai.

Ginting did appear dominant over Loh in this match. The pressure he put on made it difficult for Loh to develop the game. it’s no wonder that Ginting has a landslide advantage.

This victory made Ginting improve his winning streak over Loh to 4-2. The two badminton players have met six times. With the victory in Dubai, it means that Ginting has beaten the world’s seventh ranked men’s singles four times. These four wins were achieved in their last four meetings.

In the first two meetings with Loh, namely at the 2014 Indonesian Masters and the 2022 Thomas Cup, Ginting always lost. But after that, Ginting dominated and always won.

Ginting advanced to the BAC 2023 finals, after defeating the Japanese representative, Kante Tsuneyama. In the previous match, seventh seeds Yuki Fukushima/Sayaka Hirota successfully won the women’s doubles title. They became champions after defeating South Korea’s doubles match, Baek Ha Na/Lee So Hee, 21-
7 and 21-14.

Meanwhile, in the mixed doubles, the first seeds Zheng Si Wei/Huang Ya Qiong only became runners up after losing to their compatriots, Jiang Zhen Bang/Wei Ya Xin. Jiang/Wei won the gold medal after beating their opponents 21-15 and 21-16.
