Held Sunday Evening WIB, this is the starting order for the British Grand Prix F1 race

– Max Verstappen from the Red Bull team will start the British Formula 1 Grand Prix race in pole position at the Silverstone Circuit on Sunday (9/7/2023), followed by Lando Norris from the McLaren team in second place.

This Dutch racer has recorded pole position fifth in a row. He means already grabbed pole position seven times this season. The main British GP race will be held from 21.00 WIB.

According to official Formula 1 data, in the qualifying session, Verstappen managed to be the fastest despite facing wet and dry track conditions at Silverstone, with a time of 1 minute 26.720 seconds.

Behind Verstappen, two McLaren drivers, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, managed to record times of 1 minute 26.961 seconds and 1 minute 27.092 seconds respectively.

Meanwhile, in fourth and fifth positions, there were two Ferrari drivers, namely Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz Jr., with respective times of 1 minute 27.136 seconds and 1 minute 27.148 seconds.

In sixth and seventh positions, there are two Mercedes drivers, namely George Russell and Lewis Hamilton. Meanwhile, Sergio Perez from Red Bull had to start the race from sixteenth position.

“Qualifying was quite tense, tight and slippery in places,” said Max Verstappen as reported by the Formula 1 website.

In the first qualifying session (Q1) after the last practice session which was drenched in rain, bad conditions continued into qualifying due to continued rain and a wet F2 race, but track conditions were only damp at the start of Q1 due to a break in weather.

Leclerc immediately asked for a dry tire change when the Q1 session started. This made the Red Bull racer record the fastest time in Q1 with a record of 1 minute 30.719 seconds.

In Q2, the weather turned sunny so everyone (except Valtteri Bottas) changed to softer tires suitable for dry conditions. Verstappen led Q2 with a time of 1 minute 27.702 seconds.

In Q3, British rider Lando Norris recorded a time of 1 minute 26.961 seconds and meanwhile took pole position, which shocked all the spectators in the stands.

“I think that’s why in Q3, when I really pushed, we were able to take a little bit of the opportunity. For us, it’s a great day, and I’m already looking forward to tomorrow’s race,” said the 25-year-old racer.
