Preserving Traditional Sports, Potradnas Participates in Revising MSMEs and Kuningan Tourism Destinations

– The 2023 National Traditional Sports Week (Potradnas) IX in Kuningan Regency, West Java, which was held by the Ministry of Youth and Sport, became a magnet for the revival of the regional economy, which is nicknamed the “City of Horses”.

Imagine, the closest hotel to the location where the event took place at the Linggarjati Open Space Gallery was also packed with participants from all over Indonesia, who on average were young people aged 15-22 years.

Menpora Dito Ariotedjo at the opening said Potradnas was on a mission to save traditional sports which have become the nation’s culture.

“The holding of Potradnas is also a mission to save Indonesian culture from the many influences of foreign culture, especially the effects of digitalization,” said the Menpora.

After the event, the participants were projected to visit tourist destinations in Kuningan, such as the very historic Linggajati Negotiation Building, then tourist destinations Pondok Pinus Palutungan, Cicerem Blue Lake and others.

After opening the Potradnas IX event in 2023, Manpora Dito also visited the UMKM outlet to buy some merchandise as souvenirs back to the Capital. Suddenly, the visitors who witnessed the event also shopped, so that the stretching of the economy grew.

“I am very happy with this Potradnas event. Thank God, thank you very much Mr. Menpora for appointing Kuningan Regency to be the host, so that the wheels of the economy, especially from the MSME sector, turn around,” said Mrs. Ian, one of the Binangkit-assisted MSME actors who coached 60 people.

“Hopefully sporting events like this can continue to take place in Kuningan, because it is very profitable for us, apart from that, Kuningan’s original products can be known by the wider community,” he added.
