Women’s U-19 AFF Cup: The Indonesian U-19 Women’s National Team crushed Timor Leste 7-0

– The U-19 women’s national team of Indonesia started the inaugural match of the 2023 U-19 Women’s AFF Cup by beating Timor Leste 7-0 at the Sriwijaya Jakabaring Stadium Palembang, Wednesday (7/5/2023).

Srikandi Indonesia appeared dominant throughout the 90 minutes. In the first half, Indonesia was already winning 4-0. The opening goal was scored by Marsela Yuliana Awi in the 10th minute completing an assist by Helsya Maeisyaroh.

The advantage was doubled through a goal from Claudia Alexandra Scheunemann in the penalty area in the 25th minute. 11 minutes later, it was Helsya Maeisyaroh’s turn to score a goal from a distance. Helsya’s hard kick from the midfield rolled into the opponent’s box and then landed past the Timor Leste defender and into her own net.

Indonesia closed the first half with the fourth goal scored by Rana Wandik completing Awi’s pass.

Winning 4-0 in the first round did not necessarily make Indonesia satisfied.

Indonesia intensified the attack again in the second round.

Awi scored the second goal in the 64th minute taking advantage of the chaos in front of goal and fired a powerful shot from close range.

Two minutes later it was Ayunda’s turn to get her name on the scoreboard with a low kick. Five minutes from the end, Ayunda scored again to make Indonesia win 7-0.
