John Terry Appointed to be Chelsea Academy Coach

– After a month on the staff at Leicester City, former Chelsea captain John Terry has announced a return to Stamford Bridge. John Terry has been assigned as Chelsea academy coach.

He was previously entrusted as Chelsea’s coaching consultant in 2022.

“I’m delighted to be back home to work at the academy and continue in my role at the club,” Terry, who started his coaching career in 2018 as assistant manager at Aston Villa, said in an Instagram post.

The former defender and five-time Premier League champion won all major silverware during his 19 years as a player at Stamford Bridge and made him Chelsea’s most successful captain.

Terry is back in west London with Mauricio Pochettino as coach and a rebuilding project is underway.

The former Spurs boss was formally introduced on Friday and was keen to stress the need for unity after 18 months of turmoil.

‘The football culture in England is very difficult to understand. My responsibility is also to help and increase our knowledge and capacity to create this culture where everyone knows how to behave in different situations,” said Pochettino.
